Finding your way along the cycle route

Compass and orientation of the sun?

In order to cycle in the right direction, signposting, maps and GPS tracks will help you orient yourself during your journey!

Signposting along the route

Specific signposting has been put in place in both directions along the route. Panels are also dotted along the route; some give details on specific distances.

Note that in the départements (French counties) of Aude and Hérault, the Canal du Midi UNESCO World Heritage Site listing means that there are restrictions on how the cycle route can be developed. For the moment, signposting in these counties is not continuous.

Specific signposting is being put up along the route:

You can purchase specific topoguides covering the Canal de Garonne and the Canal du Midi separately, or also topoguides covering the entire route along both canals.

GPS tracks

If you have a GPS device, you can download the tracks in GPX. format, either for certain stages, or for the whole route.
